Michael H. Griffin, Esq.

Michael is a graduate of the University of Maine and the University of Maine School of Law. He has been practicing law in the Bangor, Maine area since 1974. Michael’s law practice is diverse, with a special emphasis on residential and commercial real estate, estate planning and corporate law. During his career, he has conducted nearly 10,000 residential and commercial closings as well as crafting hundreds of estates plans and trusts for his clients.

Michael is active in the Maine Bar Association, Continuing Legal Education, and other professional organizations. He is a member of the Maine Title Standards Committee, and the Maine State Bar Association's Real Estate Section. Michael helps coordinate the Maine Real Estate Institute, a training seminar attended every few years by hundreds of Maine's attorneys. He is known for his diligence and steadfast dedication to his clients.


Kerry Clark Jordan, Esq.

Kerry is a graduate of the University of Maine and the Franklin Pierce Law Center/UNH. She has been practicing law since 1988 and is an accomplished and successful family law and divorce attorney. Kerry has assisted clients in hundreds of family matters since she began her practice. Kerry is also well known for her work in estate planning and social security disability.

Along with other community members, Kerry founded FOR KIDS' SAKE, an educational program to help parents learn about the impact of divorce and separation on children. Kerry was also selected by the Maine Supreme Court to assist with the establishment of the Katahdin Counsel Recognition Program, and has earned the Katahdin Counsel Recognition Award in 2012-2013 and again 2013-2014.

Kerry is associated with various professional organizations and volunteer projects and has practiced in the Bangor, Maine area her entire career.


Mark K. Laverdiere, Esq.

super lawyer logoMark is a skilled attorney who provides his clients with exceptional legal representation both in and out of the Courtroom. Mark is passionate about his areas of practice. He is an experienced transactional attorney in both business and real estate matters, while he also maintains an active civil and criminal litigation practice. He has protected his client’s interests through numerous multi-million dollar business transactions. He also provides counsel and assistance with business formations, shareholder agreements, noncompete provisions, and other corporate filings. He serves as corporate counsel to companies throughout the State of Maine.

Mark also works extensively in both commercial and residential real estate transactions, helping his clients or banks by ensuring that their interests are properly protected. Mark works closely with lenders and accountants to provide his clients with a comprehensive service. Mark’s interest in real estate law also finds him working frequently in real estate litigation matters involving property and easement disputes.

Prior to joining Griffin & Jordan, Mark worked as a judicial law clerk for the Maine Superior Court on hundreds of complex cases including real estate and business disputes, medical malpractice claims, employment discrimination and whistleblower cases, and murder/manslaughter trials.

His other practice areas include estate planning and estate litigation, wills & trusts, and personal injury. Mark is a former U.S. Army Sergeant who served from 2002 to 2006. During his time in the service, Mark was deployed to Tikrit, Iraq, with the First Infantry Division, where he operated as a combat commander and squad leader for over 13 months. He was named his battalion’s 2004 Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year while in Iraq and earned multiple medals and honors during his time in the service.

After completing undergraduate degrees, Mark attended the University of Maine School of Law in Portland, Maine, where he graduated with high honors and was awarded the Pro Bono Publico Award. While in law school, he represented clients on behalf of the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic, as well as the Financial Crimes Division of the Maine Attorney General’s Office as a student extern. Mark joined the law firm of Griffin & Jordan, LLC in 2014. Mark has been selected as one of New England's Rising Stars in Real Estate by the peer reviewed New England Superlawyers from 2015-2017. Mark serves as Treasurer for the Penobscot County Bar Association and is a member of the Orono-Old Town YMCA Board of Directors.
