Michael is a graduate of the University of Maine and the University of Maine School of Law. He has been practicing law in the Bangor, Maine area since 1974. Michael’s law practice is diverse, with a special emphasis on residential and commercial real estate, estate planning and corporate law. During his career, he has conducted nearly 10,000 residential and commercial closings as well as crafting hundreds of estates plans and trusts for his clients.
Michael is active in the Maine Bar Association, Continuing Legal Education, and other professional organizations. He is a member of the Maine Title Standards Committee, and the Maine State Bar Association's Real Estate Section. Michael helps coordinate the Maine Real Estate Institute, a training seminar attended every few years by hundreds of Maine's attorneys. He is known for his diligence and steadfast dedication to his clients.
Kerry is a graduate of the University of Maine and the Franklin Pierce Law Center/UNH. She has been practicing law since 1988 and is an accomplished and successful family law and divorce attorney. Kerry has assisted clients in hundreds of family matters since she began her practice. Kerry is also well known for her work in estate planning and social security disability.
Along with other community members, Kerry founded FOR KIDS’ SAKE, an educational program to help parents learn about the impact of divorce and separation on children. Kerry was also selected by the Maine Supreme Court to assist with the establishment of the Katahdin Counsel Recognition Program, a program that encourages Maine attorneys to provide pro bono services in their communities. In addition, Kerry earned the Katahdin Counsel Recognition Award in 2012-2013 and again 2013-2014 for providing more than 40 hours of pro bono services each year.
Kerry is associated with various professional organizations and volunteer projects and has practiced in the Bangor, Maine area her entire career.
Mark is a talented attorney who provides his clients with exceptional legal representation both in and out of the Courtroom. Mark practices extensively in civil and criminal litigation, and he has a wide range of experience, having worked for the Maine Superior Court on hundreds of complex cases including real estate disputes, medical malpractice claims, employment discrimination and whistleblower cases, and murder/manslaughter trials. His other practice areas include estate planning, wills & trusts, real estate and property law, family law, and social security. As a former U.S. Army Sergeant who served from 2002 to 2006, Mark has the tenacity and ability to work under pressure, qualities that you need to win your case. During his time in the service, then Sergeant Laverdiere was deployed to Tikrit, Iraq, with the First Infantry Division, where he operated as a combat commander and squad leader for over 13 months. He was named his battalion’s 2004 Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year while in Iraq and earned multiple medals and honors during his time in the service.
After completing undergraduate degrees, Mark attended the University of Maine School of Law in Portland, Maine, where he graduated near the top of his class and was awarded the Pro Bono Publico Award. While in law school, he represented clients on behalf of the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic, as well as the Financial Crimes Division of the Maine Attorney General’s Office as a student extern. Mark joined the law firm of Griffin & Jordan, LLC in 2014. In 2015, Mark was selected as one of New England's Rising Stars by the peer reviewed New England Superlawyers.
